Characterization of FeS2 Thin Film Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis Method for Optoelectronic Applications

In this work, the physical properties of iron sulfide (FeS2) thin films deposited by chemical spray-pyrolysis (CSP) technique were studied. The are on glass substrates at 200oC, using FeCl3 salt with thiourea (NH2)2CS as precursors. Structural analysis X-Ray diffraction manifested that contain two phases: Marcasite and Pyrite in planes (110), (111) angles 2θ =26.3°, =28.3° respectively. Optical showed prepared thin-films highly absorbing UV-Visible range absorption coefficient was 1.6x105 cm-1 a relatively low resistivity about 0.49 (Ω.cm). calculated activation energy (Ea) 0.024 eV bandgap value 2.45 eV. Moreover, FeS2 also (CdO) to fabricate heterojunction photocell. conclusion, there is feasibility preparing low-cost for optoelectronic applications acceptable homogeneity technique.
